The Hospital, Colleges and
Schools that make up CMC Ludhiana welcome
visits from suitably qualified and experienced medical and paramedical
professionals, technologists, business and financial administrators as well as
students on elective placements.
|
PROFESSIONAL VISITS
The Hospital welcomes
short visits from professionals able to give discreet consultancy and advice in clinical,
non-clinical and administrative departments of the institution.
The Colleges and Schools that form part of C.M.C. welcome
the visits of senior academic staff to conduct workshops and/or to give lectures to
students and faculty members in their specialty.
|
Visits can vary in length from a few
days to a couple of weeks, preferably in the winter months when climatic conditions are
more favourable.
Contributions have recently been made in haematology, radiography, dentistry,
epidemiology, finance and management. |

|
Are you attending an
international conference either in India or a neighbouring country?
Are you travelling to India to lecture/conduct workshops?
Would you be able to include a visit to C.M.C. Ludhiana in your itinerary?
|
The Colleges and Hospital are also seeking
opportunities for their staff to gain further knowledge and experience either through
courses or training opportunities overseas or through departmental links between C.M.C.
Ludhiana and institutions overseas.
|
|
Does your institution run
any courses open to and suitable for overseas participants?
Are you able to offer short training attachments to overseas professionals?
Can you link your department to the corresponding one at C.M.C. for mutual sharing of
information?
VOLUNTARY SERVICE
The hospital also
welcomes visits from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for longer periods and
there are many opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, the sharing of skills and
expertise and the encouragement of C.M.C. staff in their work.
A wide range of personnel have made a worthwhile contribution in the past few years

STUDENT ELECTIVES
The medical, dental and nursing colleges
offer elective placements to students currently undergoing training in their home country.
For medical and dental students, the elective period should be undertaken during the
fourth or fifth year of training and should last a minimum of one month, but preferably
two to three months.
For nursing students, the elective period should be undertaken in the third or final year
of training and should last a minimum of one month.
The student is responsible for all the costs of their elective period including
accommodation in one of the student hostels at C.M.C.
Applications for elective periods from students in U.K. are processed initially through
the Friends of Ludhiana office.
Students from other countries should either contact their nearest overseas fellowship or
