A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master.

Students going to class after chapel. Daily chapel is a tradition started by Dr. Edith Brown and continues to this day. All the students live in hostels, some of which are good, such as the Snow Hostel for female medical students, whilst others such as the nurses’ hostel are far from acceptable and very overcrowded, and the male dental students do not have any accommodation at all. The increase in the number of MBBS students means that there is an urgent need to increase the capacity of the existing hostels by 125.
