Report of a visit to CMC Ludhiana by Rev. John Prem Mall, a trustee of Friends of Ludhiana and a former Chaplain Head of Fellowship Department at CMC
Director’s office: Fruitful visit and talks with Dr. William Bhatti in his office about Alumni meeting and AGM due in Birmingham by July 2026 bringing together CMC Health care professionals serving in the UK far and wide, procuring local contact details from College of Nursing and Paramedics section.

Microbiology Department: Had a guided tour led by Dr. Sangeeta Mohan & Manoj Malik sharing the needs for technical/scientific instruments. Some of the machinery is doing well but eventually needs replacement due to wear and tear. Departmental Staff was very welcoming and respectful during my visit refreshing my memories of knowing some of them. A new Graduate level training programme has started to train Lab technicians offering 4 years PG course under Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS).
College of Nursing: Had a meaningful interaction with senior faculty of the college after morning devotion, for which I was invited to share God’s word attended by junior BSc and Diploma Nursing students. Glad for the leadership of Principal Prof Dr. Harjit and her team.

Christian Dental College: Had unique opportunity to visit The Principal Dr. Abi M Thomas in his office expressing his gratitude to being able to serve the institution for the last 30 long years and looking forward to his retirement from the institution. He is indeed grateful to Friends of Ludhiana supporting with Dental equipment in the Clinical OPD’s and dental health care mobile services.
College of Physiotherapy: Had quick visit to this new area with a Gym for Physiotherapy services. Much pleased to note the 4-year long Bachelor of Physiotherapy Training (BPT) Course with added batch of fresh students running since year 2006 under the leadership of Principal Dr Sandeep Singh.
Christian Medical College: wonderful investment of my time with the Principal Dr Jeyaraj Pandian and Dr Pamela Jeyaraj making new strides in the field of world Stoke organisation being the 1st Asian to receive this prestigious award. The college is progressing well with 100 medical seats annually.

Chaplaincy Services: My passion for chaplaincy services keeps growing especially to see Professional and Ecumenical leadership by a superb brand of chaplaincy team. I was welcomed by the Head Fellowship Dept. Rev Nitin Cherian in the college chapel celebrating Healing Ministry Sunday in the presence of Christian Medical Association of India (CMAI) office bearers. It was a refreshing experience to see many senior faculty and students joining for morning devotions. It was a weeklong celebration for the six sections of CMAI Administration, Physician, Nursing, Paramedics, Chaplaincy and Students sections: a week in the Hospital chapel which I attended daily during my stay in Ludhiana.
