New Director for CMC

After 10 years in post, Dr Abraham Thomas has retired from the post of Director of CMC.  In his final report to the Governing Body in March 2018 he outlined what had been achieved in those 10 years. He mentioned the developments in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Haematology, Gynaecology, ICU, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Staff and Student accommodation, CT, MRI, Linear accelerator, brachytherapy and developments at Humbran and Bilga.  However, as has been the case many times over the 124 years of its existence, CMC currently faces financial problems.  Patient throughput fell when the Indian government withdrew the 1,000 and 500 Rupee notes in November 2016 and has not recovered to sustainable levels.  The new administration is headed by Dr William Bhatti as Director.  Dr Dhruv Ghosh is the Associate Director, Prof Jeyaraj Pandian is the Principal of the Medical College, Dr Abi M Thomas remains Principal of the Dental College and Dr Anil Luther is the Medical Superintendent. The Chairman of the Governing Body is Dr Sudhir Joseph. These individuals need and would value our prayer support as they face the difficult times ahead. Their encouragement is that their work is for a King.
