We have heard so much about Covid-19 in the last two years, we must not forget the Director is also charged with the continuing need to build a hospital and medical college of international repute.

The infrastructure of the hospital has to be maintained and expanded. We have already told you about the need for new generators and happily the first has already been ordered. Dr Bhatti has very successfully raised funds from local donors. He reports “With the generous contribution of INR 14,92,213/- from FOL UK and additional funds raised from local well-wishers, we were able to raise a total INR 55,92,213/- as of 31st March 2022. Considering the urgency to procure the 1st generator, the order has been placed for this.”
The need for capacity building in order to maintain standards is relentless. The Inspections of the National Medical Commission for the renewal of permission for the Postgraduate courses in the departments of Dermatology and ENT are due shortly and the equipment, as given below, is required urgently.
1. Flexible Nasopharyngeal Laryngoscope, for ENT, which will cost approximately INR 10,50,000/- (£11,000)
2. BERA Screener (Neonatal hearing screener), for ENT, which will cost approximately INR 6,50,000/- (£6,800)
3. Triple Wavelength Diode Laser, for Dermatology, which will cost approximately INR 11,00,000/- (£11,500)
